Giulia Aquilina began Spanish Dance at 8 years old at Estudio de Danza - Deborah McNamara School of Dance
Giulia has achieved a distinction qualification in all the Spanish Dance Society grades and vocational levels from grade 1 to advanced 2 ( Level 5) and also received a Distinction for her Instructor de Baile teachers qualification of the Spanish dance Society.
In 2013, Giulia was the recipient of the Duendo Award ( most outstanding dancer) adjudicated by the late Ms Sherrill Wexler and in 2017 was awarded a scholarship from the Sharon Sapienza Foundation to Seville to study at the Matilda Coral Academy.
Giulia has taken part in numerous performances in Malta, Spain, Germany and UK and is the Artistic director of Compañia Danza Maraquilin and a much loved teacher at the studio achieving excellent results with her grade students. Giulia is currently studying for her GQAL Certificate in Dance Education and working towards her IdB 2 qualification.
She has also attended several Flamenco courses with foreign tutors such as Miguel Ángel Espino, Ángel Muñoz, Inmaculada Ortega, Virginia Dominguez, Victoria Ramos, Cristina Ortega, Pilar Ogalla, José Manuel Buzón Ruiz, Tamara López, Cristian Lozano, Charo Espino Delgado, Katerina Voulgari and Laura Segovia and Marta de Troya.
